On Friday ended a four-week action of PGR ART in the Warsaw Dudziarska Street area. On the last day the workshops participants spent on the trip to the Museum of Modern Art and Studio Gallery. In MSN they saw Black² an exhibition concept by Konstantin Grcic. Exhibition, showed within the festival “Warsaw under construction” was a contribution to the discussion about the references to Black Square by Kazimierz Malewicz, and within it the project Universal by Grzegorz Drozd who has already become a part of the landscape of this area. The next stop on this Friday road trip was Studio Gallery and the Studio Theatre backstage. A visit, to normally inaccessible nooks of the theatre caused that some participants wanted to see the evening play. Instead of watching the play in the end of the project, there were refreshments waiting for all at the local café. The later returning home did not mean the end of the “Cut” project on Dudziarska Street – next year the participants of the workshops will display their works on the exhibition summarizing the project.

We present Krzysztof Gajewski’s pictures of the Warsaw Museum of Modern Art’s activities in Szydłowiec. The photographs show a preparation meeting with Tomasz Rakowski and Professor Grzegorz Kowalski’s students, exhibition “Black and White”, the activities of Wiktor Gutt “Children initiations”, making a video of Broniowianki ensemble and presentation of the Kowalnia students’ works.

Second week of PGR ART workshops at Dudziarska Street area has passed under the sign of painting and templates. Participants learnt and checked by themselves how to do the template according to their own idea (including two-colour one) and how to transfer it to a paper or a shirt. In the middle of a week Art Workers took the youth at ARTour, tour after Warsaw galleries. They visited six of them. Details and the photo relation from the workshops, including the pictures of the workshop participants took in the galleries can be seen on the PGR ART blog (http://dudziarska.blogspot.com). The residency of the Museum of Modern Art began in Szydłowiec. The inauguration was the opening of the exhibition ”Black & White” in the common room at Radomska Street and the concert “Evening with Deaf” – noise band from Szydłowiec, which took place in the cinema room in the Castle. Electronic music and Castle interiors gave a very unique atmosphere to the films. >>>>
